last minute costume ideas

Two days till Halloween. Are you ready? I'm happy with my costume consulting services; I helped Liz/Cali shop for their items, gave Laura her dress and bounced back and forth ideas with some others. I successfully exercised my creative muscles so that's all that really matters.

I know some people wait until the very last minute- so I'm willing to put some of my not-taken suggestions up for grabs. All of these are fairly easy and executable in the 48 hour time frame we have until the big night:

Buy the Kate Gosselin Wig... (you know you want it just to be a part of the craze) spray it with Brown Dye hair spray and go as....

The FIERCE Christian Siriano!

For those of you who want to be spooky-buy the costume, get super grimy with makeup and hair and go as Beetlejuice. Just be prepared to do something stellar when people say your name three times. I think Beetle J. deserves more pop culture cred than he gets, he is often overshadowed by his dismal/emo brother Edward Scissorhands

The Gordon's Fisherman (you know the jingle) is a preferred recommendation of mine. I love it to pieces... if you think it's too obscure, just buy the same costume- add a hook and voila...

You're the killer from I Know What You Did Last Summer! This guy totally got overlooked by the folks buying Scream masks.

You really don't want to buy ANYTHING. Go as Daria. Pretty sure every girl has a black skirt, black boots and could tap into some resources for a green cardigan/blazer. If you're blessed with perfect vision go out and get fake frames. Bonus points for talking in a monotone voice all night and being super anti.

If you and your BFFL have the whole blond v. brunette thing going on- I think you can pull off Betty and Veronica. You can also wig it. Super false lashes to create the cartoon vibe and maybe use large iron-on preppy letters on your shirts for the extra obvious factor. P.S. if you're Veronica you can totally brag about the fact that Archie chose her in the long run.

Are you a big LOST nerd like me? I 've had this costume on reserve for two years now. Wearing a jumpsuit is so appealing in terms of staying warm and comfortable. You can find the Dharma Initiative Costume online (it used to be on the ABC store but isn't up anymore) but you can also buy the standard one piece at a uniform store and make the iron on label "Swan" symbol. Also stop showering today- by Saturday night, you'll almost look the part.

Got a big group that is feeling uninspired? I love the idea of going as the cast of Candyland. I covet Princess Lollipop's headpiece like woahhh. Again, all costumes are fairly easy to make in short notice.

Do it but do it right- the cast of CLUE should look DIVINE! When google-image searching groups who have done it in the past, you see the real difference between the people that were ho-hum and the folks who went the extra mile. (I'd totally want the rope as my weapon- I think it'd make a great dancing accessory)
I think these are some sound suggestions... if you're still in a jam, email Sassypants@everydaysassypants.com and I could potentially come up with more ideas!

Have a safe and FUN Halloween!
Love,
Jac
