the d.i.y. diva

Mark and Carly's Wedding is less than 100 days away.  When I visited in late summer  we went to the Paper Source to scope out invitations- and Carly kept hinting that she'd like to make it herself. I completely encouraged the idea, if anyone could do it, I knew Carly could.

Her immediate D.I.Y. inclination was something with watercolors, she sent me this sample piece early on in the process:

(Stalkers Beware: That's not my actual address)

The minute I saw this attempt, I knew that her final product would be perfect. She wanted something that conveyed the glamorous nature of the affair but also incorporated trees. Trees were used on her Save The Date and also hold significance to their ceremony. Pretty soon Carly became consumed with a paper cutter and started on the final product,

She made EVERYTHING- from the outer envelope, to the "Carly & Mark" label, to RSVP cards tucked inside....

Look at the gorgeous mounting!

and now - the big picture-

She printed up the cards on her printer and then HAND DREW the design on EVERY SINGLE INVITATION- using black ink and water color for the flowers,

A closer look,

It's perfectly personal and just speaks to how special Mark and Carly are as a couple. Each tree was designed with love for the invitation recipient- I can't think of any better way to ask your guests to celebrate your special day!

I'm so proud of Carly and as the wedding festivities approach I am getting more and more psyched. Be on the look out for more posts as we get closer to January 23rd!

Congrats on an excellent job Carly!

i can't believe she hand-made all of them!!! that's so incredible. knowing what my sister went through (who certainly did not hand-make her invites), i know this was a major task. how gorgeous...
