weather you like it or not...

Yesterday, in New York, it slushed all day long. At some point in the evening this turned into snow and it's been coming down since. Seeing people complain about the snow kind of makes me laugh- if you live in an area with four seasons it's something that comes every year. A few random snowy days during the winter months are a reality you need to accept- - - now if it's a blizzard, like D.C. experienced a few weeks back, then I warrant all complaints. When the weather is making you go stir crazy, a little venting is needed.

So once we all move past the initial complaints of yucky weather, we need to move into a stage of acceptance. Acceptance, as we all know, always begins with getting the right shoes. Well, at least for today's blog it does- the proper armor will certainly make you feel well equipped and comfortable enough to actually go outside in the white winter world. My friend Samantha tweeted yesterday that she made the mistake of wearing Uggs in the rain and thus I am inspired to blog (once again) about weather appropriate shoes.

My inspiration comes from Tommy Hilfiger's Fall 2010 Show,

He sent most of his models down the runway in what appears to be duck boots! Some days I feel a bit suffocated in my knee high Hunter wellies and this variety of water proof shoes seem like a great alternative. Check out some of my favorites below:

Thoughts on the duck shoe? I also think they'd be cute under a pair of skinny jeans on a "day after snow" and a bit more appropriate for Spring and Summer rain.

You've been snowed in for 1 day you can't be stir crazy yet. This is the best reason to party.

yes traveling in the snow is a pain. I stand corrected and amend my stated warranted complaints.
